Fragmented Orchestra opening
Kin
design produced the visual identity for a Sonic art exhibition
called the Fragmented Orchestra. It was part of a larger exhibition called
DingDong at FACT gallery in Liverpool.
For more information on the background to the exhibition click here.
We travelled up to Liverpool for the opening. It was incredible to experience
the installation as it was produced for the exhibition night. At one
point the sound of choir was coming from Gloucester Cathedral and being
remixed with the sounds of children interacting with the speaker in the
Millenium stadium and traffic from a site in London. At times it was melodic
and at other times jarring and challenging.
Daniel Jones also created an excellent composition interface on the Fragmented Orchestra website in which you can drag icons that represent the twenty four sites in relation to each other to mix the sounds from different sites.
